Dear Supporters,

We’ve all felt the harmful effects of isolation over the last two years, either directly or through someone we know. Now, we are coming out of isolation, but prisoners across the country are not. Our prisons and jails are still using this cruel and ineffective strategy in the name of our safety, and there could not be a more important moment for us as a society to do something about it!

The End of Isolation Tour will bring our legislative art to formerly-incarcerated-led organizations on the frontlines of working to pass legislation to ban solitary confinement in accordance with the Mandela Laws. We will attract new audiences, bring in stakeholders, and gain media attention. We will create a documentary that will knit together organizers across the country and shine a light on the face of this movement to replace isolation and punishment with decarceration and restorative justice.

The End of Isolation Tour hopes to hit the road July 11th, 2022, but we need your help. Any DONATION over $200 will get you a free copy of FLYING KITES, the wonderful graphic novel adaptation of The BOX published by Haymarket Books, and help pay the salaries for formerly actors while we travel for two months this summer:

Solitary confinement increased in our nation's prisons during the pandemic by 500%. Instead of curbing the spread of COVID-19, this dramatic increase exacerbated the spread by weakening incarcerated people’s immune systems and then sending them back to the general prison population where they infected others. The Times reported that one in three incarcerated people in state prisons are known to have had COVID-19.

The pandemic has highlighted the cruelty and failure of American incarceration. Now, people on the frontlines need our love, support and solidarity more than ever. Our community partners, like Voice of the Experienced and The Abolitionist Law Center have committed to raising $100,000 for our tour but we’re only half-way to our goal.
